Jet Airlines may purchase an aircraft at the Paris Air Show

Approximately 200 planes are allegedly on the airline’s shopping list.
Jet Airways’ relaunch date is still being put off, but new information about its aircraft is occasionally revealed. According to the most recent information, the airline’s successful applicants, the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium, may place a sizable aircraft order at this year’s Paris Air Show.
Jet Airways is currently getting ready to place a sizable airplane order for 200 airframes, which it will probably do at the 2023 Paris Air Show. According to a report by Mint, the airline will plan the order in a way that will take into consideration the various requirements of the Indian domestic market and choose the size of the aircraft accordingly.
Any potential order from Jet Airways “has to be adequate numbers and various types of aircraft to ensures Jet Airways will have the appropriate size equipment to support its planned network,” according to Vishok Mansingh, chief executive officer of Vman, an aviation leasing company. He estimates that 250–300 aircraft will be required by Jet Airways to support its 8–10 year induction strategy.
The possibility of Jet’s fleet organization has been covered in the media before. According to a 2021 Bloomberg article, the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium was in talks with both Boeing and Airbus for a purchase of at least 100 narrowbodies, with an estimated $12 billion in spending.
Many people were curious as to whether the new planes would be American or European at the time because the plan for more than 100 aircraft appeared to be in line with the business’ long-term growth strategy. Then there were reports that Jet was very close to finalizing the contract for 50 Airbus A220 aircraft.
Even though it’s unclear if this aircraft purchase will materialize later this year, it has undoubtedly increased the value of the airline’s stocks. According to Business Today, following the news of its possible airplane purchase on March 6th, Jet Airways shares increased by 5%.
