Air Kerala is more than just an airline, it is a bridge to home: CEO Harish Kutty
The Indian aviation sector is ascending to greater heights with the launch of new airlines, airports and more. Being one among the newly launched air carriers in the country, Air Kerala is gearing up for entering the aviation market in 2025.
The Oommen Chandy government gave flight to this dream project by supporting the launch of Air Kerala, a brain-child of UAE entrepreneurs – Zett Fly Aviation Pvt Ltd Chairman Afi Ahmed and Vice Chairman Ayub Kallada. The low-cost airline recently received a no-objection certificate (NOC) from India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Air Kerala aims to commence its operations by 2025, connecting Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in the country using the ATR 72-600 aircraft. Soon thereafter the carrier also has plans to broaden its operations to international destinations.
Aviation 360 reached out to newly appointed CEO Harish Kutty, who in an exclusive interview, laid out the plans for the new entrant in the Indian aviation industry.
Kutty has worked with various carriers, including as Chief Commercial Officer at SpiceJet and Director of Revenue & Network Planning at Oman-based SalamAir. He has also served at Air Arabia, Wataniya Airways, UAE-based Zett Fly, according to a news report published on September 3.
