Dubai has always aimed high—and in aviation, it’s aiming for the skies. With an eye on becoming the global capital of aviation, the city is backing its vision with concrete investments and cutting-edge infrastructure. At the forefront of this transformation is the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) at Dubai South, a dynamic ecosystem designed to shape the future of flight.

According to Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, the hub isn’t just supporting aviation’s present—it’s engineering its future. “Aviation is not just a pillar of our economy,” Saif explains, “it is the gateway to our ambition of becoming one of the world’s most connected and future-ready cities.”

A New Standard for Aerospace Ecosystems

Located within the visionary Dubai South development, MBRAH has been meticulously planned to attract global players across the aviation value chain. From business aviation and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) to training, education, and R&D, the hub brings together the critical components needed to foster innovation.

“What sets us apart,” says Saif, “is that we’re not just building infrastructure—we’re enabling growth. MBRAH is designed to future-proof the industry and position Dubai as a true global aviation capital.”

The hub provides state-of-the-art facilities, a supportive regulatory framework, and a business environment tailored for speed and scalability. This, Saif notes, makes MBRAH one of the most attractive aerospace destinations anywhere in the world.

Attracting the next generation

One of MBRAH’s key milestones has been the completion of the first phase of the Aerospace Supply Chain Zone. According to Saif, this is a major step toward cultivating the next generation of aerospace innovators.

“We are strategically positioning the Hub as the ideal destination for companies looking to scale new heights,” he says. “With world-class infrastructure and customized zones, we’re creating an environment where innovation can thrive.”

MBRAH is also looking ahead with significant planned investments. “Over the next three years, we’re deploying AED 3 billion with third-party industry developers to expand MRO services and launch new facilities,” Saif shares.

The goal is clear: attract high-tech companies, generate employment, and channel foreign direct investment into the heart of Dubai’s aviation economy. As Saif puts it, “Our well-studied strategy will have a ripple effect across the entire economy.”

Supporting Dubai’s economic vision

MBRAH isn’t operating in isolation. It’s a key element of Dubai South, the 145-square-kilometer urban master development that supports the emirate’s 2040 Urban Master Plan. Dubai South is envisioned as a smart, sustainable, and multi-functional hub that integrates aviation, logistics, and urban living.

“Dubai South is more than a master plan,” explains Saif. “It is a forward-looking city designed to shape how we live and work in the future. Anchored by MBRAH, it will lead the way in positioning Dubai as a global nexus for trade, talent, and technology.”

Strategically located next to Al Maktoum International Airport, MBRAH benefits from exceptional connectivity to logistics corridors, residential areas, and commercial hubs. This, Saif says, creates a holistic environment that supports everything from R&D and manufacturing to lifestyle and community living.

“Aviation is not just a pillar of Dubai economy, it is the gateway to our ambition of becoming one of the world’s most connected and future-ready cities.”

Creating high-value jobs and long-term growth

Dubai’s aviation sector already plays a major role in its GDP, and MBRAH is set to deepen that impact. Saif emphasizes that the hub is central to Dubai’s push for economic diversification and the creation of high-value employment opportunities.

“We are attracting world-leading companies in aviation-related fields—this is not just about infrastructure, it’s about capability building,” he says. “We are enabling the development of skills and expertise that will drive the economy forward.”

The long-term impact? A robust, knowledge-driven aviation ecosystem that supports sustainable economic growth and cements Dubai’s reputation on the global stage.

The long-term vision

With a clear eye on the horizon, MBRAH is shaping its next decade around intelligent, demand-driven growth. “Our focus is not just on what the market needs today,” Saif explains, “but what it will require five, ten, or fifteen years from now.”

This includes staying ahead of global shifts in aerospace innovation, supply chain integration, and advanced mobility solutions. “Our goal is to anticipate those shifts and be ready before the demand arrives,” says Saif.

Ultimately, Saif views MBRAH’s mission as being tightly aligned with Dubai’s broader ambition: “We take seriously the responsibility of delivering on our leadership’s vision to establish Dubai as the aviation capital of the world.”

A hub with global altitude

As the aviation world navigates new technologies and global challenges, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub is a bold, forward-looking response from a city that thrives on ambition.

With Tahnoon Saif at the helm, MBRAH is proving that Dubai isn’t just aiming to lead the aviation industry—it’s building the infrastructure, ecosystems, and strategy to sustain that leadership for generations to come.

From the skies above Dubai South to the runways of tomorrow, the future of flight is being built—one innovation at a time.
