The CGIS at the Ministry of Municipality in Doha received the versatile platform, Survey Star.

In a 2021 Gulf state tender for the supply of one Special Mission Aircraft, Diamond had collaborated with Khatib & Alami and won the offer.

The aircraft was been handed over to CGIS – the official geospatial agency in Qatar –  on time, within 12 months after signature of the contract.

The aircraft comes with a state-of-the-art mission equipment suit from Riegl and Vexcel, which includes one Riegl laser scanner 780II-S in combination with one Vexcel Osprey 4.1 large format camera as well as a changeable option of the Vexcel Osprey camera with a Riegl 880-GII bathymetric sensor. All systems have been integrated and civil certified by Diamond Aircraft in Austria.

“It’s an honour for me to welcome another MPP customer from Qatar to the Diamond Aircraft special mission aircraft family. With a brand-new DA62 MPP, CGIS is now capable to collect all the required data with their own asset,” said Benjamin Schuhmann, Diamond’s sales manager APAC & ME for special mission aircraft.

“ The DA62 MPP has proved its value already to customers in Europe and Asia, therefore we are very proud to finally have the first DA62 MPP Survey Star in the Middle East, with Qatar as a forerunner for modern aerial mapping solution,” he said
