Dubai Airports roll out digital licensing platform for security screeners

Dubai: Dubai has introduced a new Digital Security Screener Licensing System to regulate and certify security screeners across its airports, a joint initiative by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and the Dubai Police General Command.
The system is designed to meet both national and international compliance benchmarks, strengthening aviation security while supporting the emirate’s long-term vision as a global aviation hub.
The announcement was made during a launch ceremony attended by senior officials including H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, and H.E. Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, alongside key executives from aviation safety, security, and airport operations.
According to DCAA Director General Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, the digital platform reflects Dubai’s commitment to embedding advanced technologies in aviation oversight.
“This initiative enhances efficiency and sustainability in security operations while reinforcing confidence in Dubai’s aviation sector worldwide. It also showcases the power of institutional collaboration with Dubai Police in creating a safer, smarter aviation ecosystem,” he said.
Major General Harib Al Shamsi underlined the role of innovation in maintaining Dubai’s aviation leadership. “Adopting advanced analysis tools, training programs, and global best practices ensures resilience in our security framework. By integrating technology and human expertise, we aim to set a model for aviation security both regionally and internationally,” he added.
The project is closely aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which emphasizes innovation, global competitiveness, and sustainable growth. By streamlining the licensing of security screeners through digital tools, authorities expect to improve oversight, raise professional standards, and build stronger operational readiness.
During the launch, officials also reviewed several advanced aviation security technologies and systems, highlighting how Dubai continues to invest in next-generation solutions to safeguard passengers and maintain its reputation as a premier global aviation hub.
