Pakistan PM discuss with UAE trade officials, advocating strengthened aviation and tourism connections
The Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed Pakistan’s desire for increased collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the realms of tourism and aviation during a meeting with the visiting trade minister from the Middle Eastern state.
With 1.8 million Pakistanis residing in the UAE, making substantial contributions to their home country’s economy through the second-largest remittance flow after the Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia, the ties between the two nations hold economic significance. The UAE has also played a crucial role in assisting Pakistan during its recent financial crisis by depositing substantial amounts in Pakistan’s central bank.
In a bid to strengthen economic ties, Kakar visited the UAE last year, where agreements were signed, marking the initiation of a new era of economic partnership between the two countries. During the meeting with the visiting trade minister, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Kakar underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the aviation and tourism industries, as well as collaborating on railway connectivity to facilitate increased interactions between the peoples of both nations.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, Kakar assured that Pakistan would play a proactive role in fostering collaboration between businessmen and Chambers of Commerce and Industry from both countries. He commended the UAE’s robust support for Pakistan through increased investment.
In response, the UAE minister expressed determination to further enhance trade relations with Pakistan, affirming a commitment to strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
