Chester: Signum Aviation, the UK-based flight planning and operational support specialist serving the private aviation sector, has been awarded a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise represent the highest official UK recognition for business excellence. Now in their 59th year, these awards celebrate outstanding achievement among UK companies across categories including innovation, sustainable development, and international trade. Winners are personally approved by His Majesty The King.

Founded in 2007 by Managing Director Jonathan Gill, Signum Aviation has grown from a single-client operation in a small Chester office to a global enterprise supporting over 300 aircraft tails annually. Its clients span the globe, including Heads of State, government aircraft, and high-net-worth individuals, operating a range of aircraft from the Pilatus PC-12 to the Boeing 777.

“We are honoured to receive this special award,” said Jonathan Gill. “It reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients around the world. I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated and professional team who work tirelessly to ensure our continued success.”

The company delivers tailored, round-the-clock services including flight planning, handling arrangements, overflight and landing permits, weather briefings, airfield performance analysis, and third-party charter coordination. With headquarters at Manchester City Airport in the UK, Signum also operates from strategic locations in Denver (USA), Subang (Malaysia), and most recently, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Signum Aviation established its presence in Riyadh in January 2025, identifying the Kingdom as a key growth market. The Middle East operations are led by Awais Babar, Regional Vice President, who has spearheaded several major initiatives in the region and is now based in Riyadh.

The King’s Awards were renamed in 2023 to honour His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, highlighting UK businesses that are innovating, expanding globally, and making significant contributions to economic and social progress.
